Ekonomická univerzita v Bratislave v spolupráci so združením Edukácia@Internet a Slovenskou esperantskou federáciou organizuje prvý medzinárodný jazykový festival na Slovensku pod názvom „LingvaFest’ 2018“, ktorý sa bude konať už koncom septembra v Bratislave! V dňoch 28. a 29.9. v čase od 9:00 do 18:00 sa na EU v Bratislave budú jazyky skloňovať vo všetkých pádoch a to nie len po slovensky.

Every year, the UEBA nominates students not only for Erasmus+ exchange programmes but also for Erasmus+ internships. This enables them to link their theoretical knowledge with practical skills, to enhance their language competencies and to get an invaluable international work experience. All of this gives the students a competitive advantage on the labour market after graduation.

The team of students of Banking studying at the UEBA’s Faculty of National Economy led by Assoc. Prof. Jana Kotlebová, PhD., Assoc. Prof. Peter Árendáš, PhD. and Ing. M. Širaňová, MA, PhD. from the Department of Banking and International Finance tested their skills again at the international competition Rotman European Trading Competition (RETC 2018), now in Rome taking place between August 23 and 25, 2018.

Between July 9 and August 3, 2018 the University of Economics in Bratislava organized already 14th internationally recognized summer school for Mexican students from the partner university Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico. The program of the summer school has been launched by Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations, who also welcomed the students at UEBA.

The Commission of independent international researchers announced winning publications for the 2017 EU in Bratislava Award for best publication. In the category, university textbook Michal Páleš, PhD. was awarded for his Language R in Actuarial Analyzes by ECONOM publishing house. The team of authors, led by Zuzana Brokešová, PhD. receives prize in the category articles in domestic and international journals for the article Comparing a Risky Choice in the Field and across Lab Procedures published in the Journal of Economic Psychology. The award ceremony will be held during the opening ceremony of new academic year 2018/2019.

Twenty-two students from the EU, Switzerland, Russia, China and Turkey participated on the 31st summer school organized by the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) in Bratislava. ERSA is the largest academic organization which gathers together researchers and lecturers in the field of regional science, regional economics and politics. As Mr. Štefan Rehák, the organizer of the event said for the SITA news agency today, the ERSA Summer School takes place every year at a different European university. The University of Economics in Bratislava hosted the event for the second time. The event was organized by the UEBA’s Department of Public Administration and Regional Development. During the programme, students met with experts from prestigious European universities and institutions. The summer school was supported by the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia.

On June 19, 2018 the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, signed an agreement on double degree diploma between the University of Economics in Bratislava (UEBA) and the University of National Economy in Sofia (UNWE). The agreement was signed in the presence of both the President of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Andrej Kiska and the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev who was on an official visit to Slovakia between June 19 and 20, 2018.

The University of Economics in Bratislava in collaboration with the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) is pleased to announce the opportunity for Ph.D. students and young researchers to participate in the 31th ERSA Summer School which will be held from the 1th July to 8th July, 2018 at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. Within the topic of the summer school “Regional Policy Analysis and Planning - Evaluation Theory and Practice” recent advances in theory of regional policy, its implementation and evaluation will be discussed.
