Year 2023
On September 11-12, 2023, the Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava prepared the 4th edition of the 'PhD. Orientation Days'. The aim of the event is to provide information about studying at EUBA, as well as introductory training in pedagogical, publishing and project management skills. EUBA through PhD. Orientation days try to start the development of these skills and thereby continuously increase the quality of doctoral studies. In addition to these trainings, doctoral students also gained an overview of the possibilities of financing their mobilities through EUBA's internal resources as well as external schemes (Fulbright, SAIA, the International Vyšehrad Fund). 30 doctoral students took part in the event and received a certificate of participation.
Year 2022
On September 13-14, 2022, the Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava prepared the 3rd edition of the 'PhD. Orientation Days'. The aim of the event is to provide information on PhD studies at the EU in Bratislava, as well as introductory training in pedagogical, publishing and project management skills. While preparing the PhD Orientation Days the EU in Bratislava strives to reinforce development of these skills and concomitantly to pursure the goal of continuous improvement of the quality of doctoral studies. In addition to these trainings, doctoral students also gained an overview of the possibilities of financing their mobility via internal EU sources in Bratislava as well as external schemes (Fulbright, SAIA, International Visegrad Fund). A total of 27 doctoral students took part in the event and received a certificate of participation.
Year 2021
The Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava, in cooperation with CERGE-EI, organized a second edition of a three-day-long PhD. Orientation Days. The event included a pedagogical course, in which first-year doctoral students became acquainted with various methods and strategies of teaching in economics and at the same time had the opportunity to present their research projects to their new colleagues. The staff of the Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava prepared a series of presentations, informing about the requirements of doctoral studies and mobility and funding opportunities offered at the EU in Bratislava. A total of 38 doctoral students registered for the event, of which 29 doctoral students successfully completed the pedagogical course and received certificates issued by CERGE-EI.
Year 2020
The Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava, in cooperation with CERGE-EI, prepared a three-day event “PhD. Orientation Days”. The event included a pedagogical course in which beginning researchers and university teachers became acquainted with various methods and strategies of teaching in economics and at the same time had the opportunity to present their research projects to new colleagues. The staff of the Department for Science and Doctoral Studies of the EU in Bratislava prepared a series of presentations, which acquainted them with the requirements of doctoral studies and the possibilities of mobility and funding of their research, which study at the EU in Bratislava offers them. A total of 55 doctoral students registered for the event, of which 25 doctoral students successfully completed the pedagogical course and received certificates issued by CERGE-EI.
