The obligation to provide information follows from the Article 13 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council no. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive No. 95/46 / EC (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).

We process your personal data as part of the obligations of the University of Economics in Bratislava. When processing your personal data, you are the person concerned, i.e. the person whose personal data are being processed.

Your personal data will be kept secure, in accordance with the University's security policy, and only for the time necessary to meet the purpose of their processing. The access to your personal data will be restricted to persons authorized by the university (the operator) for the processing of personal data, processing them on the basis of the operator's instructions, in accordance with the operator's security policy.

Your personal data will be backed up in accordance with the University's security policy. Your personal information will be completely erased from your backup repositories as soon as possible in accordance with the backup policy. Personal data stored in backup storage serves to prevent security incidents, in particular the disruption of data availability due to a security incident. The University of Economics in Bratislava is obliged to provide data backup in accordance with the GDPR security requirements and Act no. 18/2018 Z. z.

How will your personal data be processed?

Your personal data will be processed on the basis of specific legislation and purposes set by the operator. Will your personal data be provided outside the European Union?

We usually restrict any cross-border transfers of personal data to third countries outside the European Economic Area (ie outside EU Member States, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein) if this is not necessary. The reason is that these third countries do not have to ensure an adequate level of personal data protection, according to the EU-Commission's decision. However, in some cases, such transfers may occur. Your personal data may be transferred to a third country, especially when you apply for a Cross-Border Mobility at the University of Economics in Bratislava within the framework of available student or employee mobility programs.

Will your data be used for automated, individual decision-making?

Personal data will not be used for automated individual decisions, including profiling.

What are the recipient categories of your personal information?

Internal recipients of personal data from the University of Economics in Bratislava, external recipients of personal data outside the University of Economics in Bratislava as independent operators, intermediaries.

How long will your personal data be stored?

We hold the personal data we process about you under Act No. 395/2002 Coll. on archives and registers in connection with the "Registry order and Registration plan of the University of Economics in Bratislava", as amended, which stipulates deadlines for the processing of personal data in accordance with other special regulations. Registry order and registration plan of the University of Economics in Bratislava are published on the website of the University.

What are your rights?

• Revoke your consent - in cases where your personal data is processed by your consent, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time. You may withdraw the consent electronically by sending an email to the person in charge, by a written notice of withdrawal or by making a request in person at the University of Economics in Bratislava. Revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the personal data we have processed on your behalf.
• The right of access - You have the right to provide us with a copy of the personal data we have at your disposal, as well as information on how we use your personal information. In most cases, your personal information will be provided in a written form, if you do not require a different form of provision. If you have requested this information by electronic means, it will be provided electronically, unless there is technical inconvenience.
• The right for a correction - we take reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the information we have at your disposal. If you believe that the data we store is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please do not hesitate to ask us to modify, update or complete that information.
• The right to erase data - you have the right to ask us to delete your personal data, for example, if the personal data we have received you no longer need to fulfill the original purpose of the processing. However, your right must be assessed in the light of all relevant circumstances. E.g., we may have some legal obligations, which means we will not be able to meet your request.
• The right to restrict the processing - under certain circumstances, you are entitled to request us not to use your personal information. These are, for example, cases where you believe that personal information we have about you may be inaccurate or if you believe that we no longer need your personal data to be used.
• The right to data transfer - Under certain circumstances, you have the right to request the transfer of your personal data to another third party of your choice. However, the right to data transfer concerns only personal data that we have obtained from you under your consent or under a contract of which you are one of the parties.
• The right for an objection - You have the right to object to the processing of data  based on our legitimate interests. If we do not have a valid legitimate reason for the processing and you submit an objection, we will not process your personal data any further.
• The right to file a motion to personal data protection - if you believe that your personal data is being processed unfairly or illegally, you may file a complaint to  the supervisory authority, addressed to the Personal Data Protection Office of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27; tel. number: +421/2/3231 3214; Email: statny.dozor@pdp.gov.sk.
