From October 15 to 19, 2018 the University of Economics in Bratislava hosted representatives from 17 foreign universities from a number of European and non-European countries at 7th edition of the International Week. The event was launched by the rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Prof. Ferdinand Daňo and the ambassador of Japan to Slovakia, H.E. Mr Jun Shimmi under whose auspices the event was held. UEBA organized the 7th edition of the International Week with the support of the Erasmus+ programme.

October 16, 2018 saw another from a series of stimulating lectures within the Diplomacy in Practice lecture series, this time with the ambassador of New Zealand, H.E. Ms Nicole Roberton. The embassy is located in Vienna, Austria and ambassador Roberton is accredited for Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary and international organizations located in Austria. Prior to her lecture, the ambassador was greeted on behalf of the rector, Mr Ferdinand Daňo, by the vice-rector for international cooperation, Mr Boris Mattoš.

V týždni 15. - 19. októbra 2018 privíta Ekonomická univerzita v Bratislave zástupcov zo 17 zahraničných univerzít z viacerých európskych i mimoeurópskych krajín v rámci 7. edície Medzinárodného týždňa. Podujatie otvorí rektor Ekonomickej univerzity v Bratislave, prof. Ferdinand Daňo a veľvyslanec Japonska na Slovensku, J.E. pán Jun Shimmi, ktorý udelil nad týmto podujatím záštitu. EU v Bratislave organizuje 7. edíciu Medzinárodného týždňa s podporou programu Erasmus+.

On behalf of the rector, Prof. Ferdinand Daňo, the vice-rector for academic projects management, Assoc. Prof. Jana Péliová received Prof. François Vellas, the president of AIUTA, the International Association of Universities of the Third Age, director of the University of the Third Age in Toulouse, France and professor of international economics at the University of Toulouse.

Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, head of the Centre of Communications and Public Relations, Mr. Miroslav Horňák and president of the UEBA Student Parliament, Mr. Jakub Ševčík opened the Fan Shop at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and “baptised” the shop with a handful of sweets with the logo of the University.

On September 25, 2018 the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Japan to Slovakia H. E. Mr. Jun Shimmi visited the University of Economics in Bratislava and launched 24th two-semester lecture series Diplomacy in Practice. The main topic of the winter term is the economic diplomacy of Asia-Pacific. In his presentation, Ambassador Shimmi discussed the continual developments that challenge the society in 21st century and defined new trends in global economics. In following discussion, he answered the questions of students.

Ekonomická univerzita v Bratislave v spolupráci so združením Edukácia@Internet a Slovenskou esperantskou federáciou organizuje prvý medzinárodný jazykový festival na Slovensku pod názvom „LingvaFest’ 2018“, ktorý sa bude konať už koncom septembra v Bratislave! V dňoch 28. a 29.9. v čase od 9:00 do 18:00 sa na EU v Bratislave budú jazyky skloňovať vo všetkých pádoch a to nie len po slovensky.

Every year, the UEBA nominates students not only for Erasmus+ exchange programmes but also for Erasmus+ internships. This enables them to link their theoretical knowledge with practical skills, to enhance their language competencies and to get an invaluable international work experience. All of this gives the students a competitive advantage on the labour market after graduation.
