The University of Economics in Bratislava hosted today 5th and Annual meeting of Center for Financial Innovation which was created by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic and gathers all stakeholders in Fintech sector in Slovakia. Event was hosted by Peter Paluš, Head of Financial Unit of the Permanent representation of the Slovak republic to the EU.
Members of CFI were welcomed also by Mr. Martin Peter, head of Banking Department Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. Peter Kerstens, Adviser to DG FISMA and Co-Chair of the Fintech task force discussed on Action Plan for financial innovations, EU blockchain observatory, crowdfunding, virtual assets and on EU activities towards fintech environment in year 2019. Mr. Dittrich of Slovak Investment Holding presented frameworks for financial support of innovations. After presentation Mrs. Čillíkova of National Bank of Slovakia launched new Innovation Hub facilitated by Slovak regulator. Jana Peliova of the UEBA presented main aims of H2020 FINTECH Risk Management project as a great example of good practice for cooperation between academia (providing technical skills) and regulator (with positive attitude towards innovations on market) as a prerequisites for successful development of fintech sector in Slovakia. Professor Ochotnicky informed about innovations in teaching process which reflect current trends on financial markets jointly prepared with Center for Financial Innovations.
