The University of Economics in Bratislava welcomed 135 students from 22 countries of the world who came to study in the summer semester of the academic year 2019/2020. The countries with the highest representation are France, Spain and Germany. Students from the USA or Mexico will also study at the university as part of bilateral cooperation and under the Erasmus + International Credit Mobility Program, as well as students from Albania and Ukraine.
On January 7-17, 2020, the 10th Winter School was organized by the University of Economics in Bratislava in cooperation with the prestigious French University of ESC Rennes School of Business. The event was opened by Boris MATTOŠ, the Vice-Rector for International Relations. The academic program was designed for students of the II. degree, who have been taught in international strategic management during two intensive weeks. From the educational part the project was administered by the French representatives, Mr. Shubho CHAKRABORTY from the Department of Innovation and Strategy of the ESC Rennes School of Business and Mr. Richard BEDNÁR from the Department of Management FPM UE in Bratislava. The leisure program for students from France was provided by the Erasmus Student Network volunteer organization at the University of Economics in Bratislava.
The top representatives of five research universities (University of Economics in Bratislava, the Slovak University of Technology, the Technical University of Košice, the University of Žilina and the Technical University of Zvolen) together with the Automotive Industry Association of the Slovak Republic established a new association UNIVNET with a goal to carry out research and development activities and recovery of waste.
On the 13th of January 2020, the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Ferdinand DAŇO, received Mr Emad ORFALY, the Consul of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic based in Vienna at his own request. The consul was accompanied by the President of the Slovak-Syrian Chamber of Commerce and Culture, Ing. Dr. Ali ASSAD, PhD. The Consul handed over a letter from the Rector of the University of Damascus to the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava. As it was his first visit to Slovakia, our guest was interested in the academic cooperation of the UE in Bratislava with university institutions in Syria, where he expressed his readiness to support its development as much as possible. Between 2017 and 2019, a mobility project was implemented at the University of Economics in Bratislava under the Erasmus + Key Action 107 program with Tishreen University in Latakia. Boris MATTOŠ, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, informed our guest about the international cooperation.
