The University of Economics in Bratislava welcomed 96 exchange students from 19 countries around the world for the Winter Semester 2024/2025 within the Erasmus+ Programme, Bilateral Cooperation, and National Scholarship Programme. This semester, students from partner institutions across Europe, Asia, Africa, and America have seized the opportunity to study at the EUBA. Full-time international students were also cordially invited to participate in the Welcome Week.
To ensure a warm and memorable start to their exchange experience, the International Office has organized the traditional Welcome Week from September 9 to September 15, 2024. The week is packed with activities designed to help students integrate into the university community, discover Bratislava, and form lasting friendships.
On the first day of the Welcome Week, students were greeted by Vice-Rector for International Relations, Boris Mattoš, the Head of International Office, Miroslava Darnadiová, Coordinator for Incoming Students, Laura Danielová, and president of the ESN EU Bratislava, Radovan Kopál.
The Welcome Week event started with Icebreaking Games, a traditional Slovak dance performance by FS Ekonóm, and campus tours on Monday. On Tuesday, students received administrative instructions and were informed about visa obligations. Students then enjoyed the activities organized by ESN and had the chance to build new friendships.
The rest of the Welcome Week organized by the International Office in collaboration with the ESN EU Bratislava features the Welcome Dinner, City Tour, Speedfriending, and the Bratislava Challenge, all to help students settle into university life and explore the city.
Throughout the semester, the International Office prepares various events for international students, such as the International Study Abroad Fair, Snack&Chat, and a Photography contest. Additional information can be found on our Instagram channel @studyateuba.
