From May 25 to June 12, 2026, the 13th edition of the International Business Consulting Program (IBCP) took place at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse (UWLAX). Fourteen EUBA students collaborated with 16 students from the USA in six mixed teams to work on real-world business projects.
The IBCP program combines academic study with practice — students work on real assignments, collaborate in international teams, and gain experience that enriches their professional résumés.
During the program, participants tried their hand at consulting work and prepared professionally developed solutions with numerous interesting proposals for our partners, whom we thank for their continued support of the program.
This year, the following organizations and companies took part in IBCP:
- The American Embassy, which assigned students a project focused on identifying opportunities and proposing solutions to support the development of artificial intelligence and the digital transformation of Slovakia.
- TPA Slovakia, which brought a project focused on designing a "Digital Ambassadors" program that will support the implementation of digital tools, streamline internal processes, and strengthen employee engagement in technological change.
- ING Hubs Slovakia, which enabled students to work on designing strategic, practical, and creative solutions for using artificial intelligence, technology, and digital creativity in employer branding and internal communication.
- IBM ISC, which brought two challenges — the first focused on developing the strategic use of artificial intelligence within IBM, and the second focused on analyzing the functioning of a global organization, with an emphasis on the role of finance and operations in managing international processes.
- Swiss Re, which brought a project focused on designing a development strategy for the University Connect and Engagement Council program through 2027, aimed at strengthening cooperation with universities and increasing student engagement.
The IBCP program wasn't just about project work. Students also got to know Slovakia and its cultural heritage — they took a tour of Bratislava, visited Červený Kameň Castle, the traditional Slovak folk majolica pottery in Modra, the Малokarpatské Museum in Pezinok, and took a boat trip to Devín Castle.
A valuable part of the program also included excursions to Volkswagen Slovakia in Bratislava and Fastenal Europe in Brno, which gave students insight into how international companies operate in practice. Students also had inspiring meetings directly at the program's partner companies — at TPA Slovakia they learned about the world of consulting, and at Johnson Controls International (JCI) they discussed opportunities for building a global career.
The program was opened with a speech at the introductory meeting at the university by Jana Péliová, Vice-Rector for Accreditation and Quality, and students were welcomed at the gala banquet by Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations. The organization was handled by Soňa Galanová, Coordinator of Bilateral Cooperation at the Centre for International Relations, and the program was academically mentored by Katarína Procházková and Andrea Čambalíková from the Faculty of Business Management, together with Christa Kiersch and Christine Ascencio from UWLAX.
