The Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) successfully hosted the 16th edition of the International Study Abroad Fair on 10 March 2026 during the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The event, dedicated to promoting cultural diversity, international mobility, and global academic cooperation, brought together international students from 23 different countries who showcased their home universities and cultural heritage.
The fair was officially opened by Laura Danielová, Coordinator for Incoming Students. Following the opening, visitors explored the diverse booths, each offering insights into study-abroad opportunities, partner institutions, and unique cultural traditions. The international booths featured not only informational materials but also an impressive variety of traditional foods. From homemade Italian pasta and Turkish sweets to Japanese mochi, students creatively introduced the tastes of their home countries. Many participants also wore traditional clothing, offering visitors a vivid and authentic glimpse into their national cultures. Leane from the University of Savoy Mont Blanc in France shared her experience: “It was a wonderful and very interesting experience. Everyone shared a small part of their culture, which created a rich and welcoming atmosphere and allowed us to learn from one another.”
EUBA was also honoured to welcome Peter Stano, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bratislava, who engaged in conversations with the international student community during his visit. He appreciated the event, noting: “I really appreciate events like the International Study Abroad Fair organised in such a creative way by EUBA. In today’s digital world, it is important to foster personal contacts and interactions as well. During the fair, students had the opportunity not only to see but also to taste and discuss with their peers the universities from around the world presented here. It was very inspiring for me to experience this vibrant exchange, and I hope it inspired many to what is so precious about the academic world – student mobility.”
Representatives from the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA) were also present at the fair, providing students with information about scholarship programs and other academic mobility opportunities.
As in previous years, attendees could vote online for the Best Booth Award. The winners of the 16th International Study Abroad Fair were full-time international students from Mexico, whose representatives impressed visitors with both traditional snacks and cultural memorabilia. Mr. Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations, presented gift bags to the winners in recognition of their creativity and enthusiasm.
International students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to share their cultures and meet peers from around the world. Gulbakhor Inoyatova from Peking University HSBC Business School in China said: “The International Study Abroad Fair gave me a great opportunity to meet people from many different countries. I truly enjoyed sharing information about the education systems and cultures of Uzbekistan and China, while also discovering new destinations I would love to visit in the future.”. Henri from Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Mosbach in Germany added: “The event was a great success and a fantastic opportunity for students to explore potential destinations for their Erasmus or semester abroad. We had many engaging conversations at our stand, and it was a lot of fun to see so many different countries and universities represented.”
