The Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) welcomed 94 exchange students from 20 countries for the Summer Semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The students arrived from partner universities across Europe, Asia, and America through the Erasmus+ Programme and bilateral cooperation agreements.

To help students enjoy a smooth and friendly start in Bratislava, the International Office of EUBA organized its traditional Welcome Week from February 2 to February 8, 2026, in cooperation with ESN EU Bratislava. The programme was designed to support incoming students as they adapt to university life, become familiar with academic and administrative procedures, explore the city, and begin building international friendships.

The event was opened by Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations, who highlighted in his speech the importance of international cooperation, promoting academic mobility, and fostering lasting friendships across countries. During Welcome Week, students received important information about academic administration, residence-related obligations, and practical aspects of student life in Slovakia. Services and support available throughout the semester were also presented.

Members of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN EU Bratislava) played a key role by assisting with registration, guiding campus tours, and facilitating ice‑breaking activities that helped students get to know one another.

Throughout the week, students participated in a wide range of social and cultural activities, including a City Tour, Speedfriending, and the popular Welcome Dinner. These events created an open, inclusive, and welcoming environment, helping students feel at home in their new surroundings.

Looking ahead, the International Office will continue to offer activities for international students during the summer semester, such as the International Study Abroad Fair, Snack & Chat sessions, and a Photography Contest. Updates about upcoming events can be found on Instagram at @studyateuba.
