On Monday, February 16, 2026, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA), Boris Mattoš, received, on behalf of the Rector of EUBA, H.E. Olga Marta Sauma Uribe, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna. The meeting took place on the occasion of her assumption of office as a courtesy visit.
The meeting was also attended by Paulína Krnáčová, Vice-Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Commerce at EUBA, and Mr. Miguel Méndez, Honorary Consul of Costa Rica.
The subject of the meeting was a presentation of EUBA, especially from the perspective of international cooperation and internationalization. The discussion focused on identifying potential opportunities for cooperation with universities in Costa Rica, especially in the areas of student and faculty mobility, joint research activities and involvement in international projects.
The Ambassador expressed strong support for the development of academic cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Costa Rica and appreciated the active approach of EUBA in the area of internationalization. At the same time, she declared her readiness to assist in establishing contacts with relevant partners in Costa Rica and to support specific initiatives aimed at developing mutual relations.
