The Accounting and Accounting and Auditing study programs at the Faculty of Economic Informatics at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business have received the prestigious professional accreditation of the AICPA - CIMA.

This is the first accreditation of this type in Slovakia in the field of management accounting, which opens up new opportunities in the field of internationally recognized education and connects the university with a global network of experts.

AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) are among the most respected professional organizations in the world of accounting and management. Together, they represent more than 580,000 professionals from more than 180 countries and offer the CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation, which is considered one of the highest standards of professional qualifications in the field of financial management. Accreditation means that the content and quality of teaching in these study programs meet strict international requirements comparable to the best universities in the world.

New opportunities for students and graduates

This is a significant competitive advantage for students and graduates of accounting and accounting and auditing degree programs. Accreditation allows them easier access to the CGMA professional certification and facilitates their application in the global job market. Studying in accredited programs also provides a strong connection between academic education and the demands of practice - students work with real case studies, analyze corporate data and develop strategic decision-making skills that are essential in today's business environment.

Prestige and commitment to the future

From the perspective of the Faculty of Economics Informatics at EUBA, the AICPA – CIMA accreditation represents confirmation of its long-term efforts to modernize teaching and open up to international cooperation. The Faculty thus follows up on the previous ACCA professional accreditation and becomes a center of excellence in the field of accounting and financial management. This success also brings new challenges – maintaining the quality of teaching, regularly updating course content, and involving qualified practitioners in the pedagogical process. At the same time, it creates space for the development of partnership relations with the business sector, international institutions, and professional organizations.

Slovakia on the world accounting map

Accreditation also brings a reputational dimension to the faculty and university – it strengthens its position as an institution that can educate professionals prepared for global challenges and that is guided by the highest quality standards. This step is also a clear signal that EUBA responds to the dynamically changing needs of practice and strives to make its graduates among the most sought-after specialists in the economic and financial fields.

This achievement is not only a formal award, but also a commitment to continue developing modern, open and practically oriented education. The AICPA – CIMA accreditation confirms that the Slovak academic environment has the potential to be part of the world elite in the field of accounting and management.
