From March 30, 2025 to April 9, 2025, the manager of the University of the Third Age of the University of Economics in Bratislava and a member of the AIUTA committee, Janka Chládecká, participated at the invitation of AIUTA in three conferences, which were co-organized by the World Organization of Universities of the Third Age in cooperation with three universities in Hong Kong: Metropolitan University Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education Kwai Hing Campus, in Macao Milenium College and in Shenzhen College Gold age.
The topic of all conferences was the digital skills of seniors and their education in this area at Universities of the Third Age. In her presentations, the manager presented the content of study programs for increasing the digital skills of seniors, presented a special textbook that students of the University of the Third Age of the University of Economics in Bratislava use during classes thanks to its author Vladimír Bolek, and informed about the cooperation with the Civic Association Vetulus, which is focused on the development of new modern digital trends for seniors.
Together with the President of AIUTA, Prof. Francois Vellas, she participated as a member of the committee in special meetings with representatives of all three universities: Dr. Benjamin Ty Chan, Dr. Cindy Wang and Dr. Lawrence Tsui.
The President of the International World Organization of Universities of the Third Age AIUTA, Prof. Francois Vellas, said: “The University of Economics in Bratislava is a good professional example in its work and its participation in the International Conference AIUTA ASIA is very important. The University of Economics in Bratislava motivates all Universities of the Third Age with its high-quality work and continuous development. It participates in surveys conducted by other member universities and is actively involved in international cooperation between AIUTA and Universities of the Third Age in Central Asia, specifically in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.”
