On March 11, 2025, the University of Economics in Bratislava premises were transformed into a vibrant space full of colors, flavors, and inspiring stories. The International Office organized the 14th annual International Study Abroad Fair, where 45 international students from 21 countries around the world shared unique aspects of their academic and cultural backgrounds.

The event was opened by Laura Danielová, Coordinator for Incoming Students, who welcomed the participants and emphasized that the fair is more than just a tour of universities - it is a space for exchanging experiences, building friendships, and discovering new perspectives. Students could participate in interactive activities - from traditional music and dance performances to tasting authentic dishes.

The fair was an academic and cultural journey, with each booth offering visitors a unique insight into the customs and traditions of the countries they represented. The event was primarily aimed at supporting international exchange programs and mobility, providing local students with the opportunity to learn about study abroad opportunities. “The fair provided students with a very fun and engaging way to explore diverse universities and study opportunities, while also experiencing a part of the culture and meeting new people,” said Tarik R. from Bosnia and Herzegovina, University of Sarajevo.

The event also featured expert advisors. The EUBA International Office, together with SAIA representatives, offered information on study-abroad opportunities. “The fair is a great opportunity to meet students who are considering studying abroad in person,” said Romana Kičinová, EUBA Outgoing Student Coordinator.

The fair was also supported by the Ambassador of Canada to Slovakia, H.E. Ms. Karen Elizabeth Mollica, who came to personally greet and encourage the students and expressed her support for initiatives that support international cooperation and mobility.

The event also included an online vote for the “Best Stand”, where visitors could choose their favorite. This year, Spain took the top spot again, as in the winter semester, receiving most of the votes. ,,The Spanish students are really grateful for this experience at EUBA. It was a lot of fun and we were all able to meet here. Thank you very much!,” said Laura O. from the University of Granada.

A special award from the EUBA International Office was received by Moroccan student Kamiliaa H., from ESCA Ecole de Management, for her creative booth decoration and interactive visitor engagement. ,,It was a real pleasure to participate in the fair and share a piece of Moroccan culture with everyone. I am truly honored that my booth was chosen as the best booth. I prepared traditional Moroccan treats for the event, such as baghrir (Moroccan gingerbread) and ghriba (almond and sesame cookies). I was so happy that everyone enjoyed them. The event was a great opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity, and I really enjoyed connecting with students from all over the world with different backgrounds,” said Kamiliaa.

The International Study Abroad Fair reaffirmed its role as a platform to connect students, inspire them to study abroad and deepen their cultural understanding. “The event was great, I really enjoyed it. Trying foods from other cultures and communicating with local and international students was a pleasant experience for me,” said Stella G. from Yerevan State University. The successful 14th year closed another chapter of this unique event but also opened the door to new opportunities for students who want to broaden their academic horizons and make valuable international contacts.
