On 20 April 2023, Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava Ferdinand Daňo received a delegation of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), comprising Joybrato Mukherjee, DAAD President and Antje Schlamm, Head of the DAAD Central Europe Desk. The delegation was accompanied by Stefan Kruschke, Head of the Culture and Press Department at the German Embassy. Also present on behalf of EUBA were Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Radoslav Štefančík, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Languages. The topics discussed involved research cooperation between Germany and Slovakia and support for Ukrainian students.

While at EUBA, the DAAD President also met DAAD lecturers teaching at Slovak universities. The delegation ended its visit of our university by meeting Ukrainian students and teachers who study and teach at the University of Economics in Bratislava.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, there is one DAAD lecturer at EUBA. More than one thousand EUBA students are enrolled in German language courses, learning German as a second foreign language. Currently, EUBA has three university teachers of Ukrainian nationality supported from the European financial mechanism - Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as 274 Ukrainian students studying here.
