In the summer semester of an academic year 2022/2023, we are organizing already the 9th edition of an international educational project Central Europe Connect - Joint Certificate Program (CEC), that enables short-term international student exchange at three economic universities in Central Europe. The CEC project is a joint project of the University of Economics in Vienna (WU), the University of Economics in Warsaw (SGH) and the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA). Within this unique certified program, 20 students from each university attend lectures and discussions on the topics of economic development of the countries of the Central European region.

The 9th edition of the CEC program was officially launched on March 20, 2023 in Bratislava with the course „Structural Dynamics in Central European Economies“ under the professional supervision of EUBA. In the opening speech, students were greeted by Boris Mattoš, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of EUBA. After the welcome part, students continued in the program with a campus tour, intergration workshop, welcome lunch and lectures. Students took part on specialized lectures and worked in teams on group projects throughout the whole week. We gladly accepted also the invitation to visit the Austrian Embassy to Slovakia and have a discussion with Madame Ambassador Margit Bruck-Friedrich, which students evaluated as very interesting and inspirational. Apart from block teaching, a tour of Bratislava was prepared for students, as well as social activity organised by the ESN EU Bratislava and a visit to ESET company, where they discussed the topics of cyber security. The block teaching was concluded on Saturday, March 25, 2023 with presentations of the results of group projects.

This semester was the first time of CEC project being organised at EUBA within the mobility program Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program and overall 49 students participate in the program in this edition. The block teaching will continue in April in Vienna with the course „Strategies and Management for Central Europe“, organized under the professional supervision of partner university WU and ninth edition of the CEC program will conclude in May in Warsaw with the course „Marketing resources and consumer behaviour in Central Europe“, provided by the partner university SGH.
