On February 27, 2018, the UEBA hosted the first International Study Abroad Fair for local and international students. The event was launched by Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, the Rector of the UEBA, H.E. Ana Maria Coelho Ribeiro da Silva, the Portuguese Ambassador, and Mr. Boris Mattoš, the Vice-Rector for international relations.
The goal of the event was to present international partner organizations as well as to promote a successful European mobility programme Erasmus+. The international students could present their countries, universities and cultures and give a support to prospective candidates interested in a foreign study stay.
More than 20 countries from Europe, North America and Africa were presented at the event. The students could learn about the study programs in foreign languages offered at UEBA, study stays, and internships in separate information booths. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) student organization presented their activities at the event, too. The students participated in the best decorated booth competition won by TEC Monterrey students from Mexico who got the prize. The competition was evaluated by the Portuguese Ambassador, the Vice-Rector for International Relations and an ESN representative.
The programme included a closing ceremony of a photo contest organized for students in the winter term 2017/2018 by the Department of International Mobility. Students staying abroad could participate in the competition by sending a photo from the campus of a foreign university. Voting took place on social networks. The winners are:
1st place – Michal Hrnčiar – fotografia z University of Coimbra, Portugalsko
2nd place – Mária Kušková – fotografia z International Business Academy, Kolding, Dánsko
3rd place – Katarína Zbojová – fotografia z University of Salzburg, Rakúsko
