On July 8, 2024, the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Ferdinand Daňo, and the Commercial Attaché and Head of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy of Spain in Bratislava, Fermín López López, signed a memorandum of understanding between the University of Economics in Bratislava and ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones (ICEX Spain Trade and Investment) in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Her Excellency Ms. Lorea Arribalzaga Ceballos.

Based on this memorandum, a Business Spanish Course will be taught at the University of Economics in Bratislava starting from the academic year 2024/2025. This specialized course will be available to all university students and will be conducted exclusively by Spanish specialists and professionals from the field. Among them will be representatives of the embassy, Spanish companies in Slovakia, representatives of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and other experts.

"This step represents a significant contribution to the internationalization of education at the University of Economics in Bratislava and strengthens cooperation between Slovakia and Spain in the field of specialized language education," stated Rector Ferdinand Daňo.
