We talked with Anita Romanová, dean of the Faculty of Business Management, about the signing of the double diploma.

doc. Ing. Anita Romanová, PhD.

How will this double degree with IDRAC Business School strengthen the international standing of the faculty and the university, and why did you choose this particular school?

IDRAC Business School is focused on educating entrepreneurs with an international scope. The focus of our faculty as well as the study programs that FPM provides are highly compatible with "business school" type faculties, both in their organizations and in the content of their studies, as well as the preparedness of graduates for the challenges that business brings on an international scale.

What are the main goals and expectations of your faculty within this new agreement with IDRAC Business School?

The double diploma is one of the tools of internationalization that the faculty has been using intensively for several years. A new agreement on double diplomas has been added to the current portfolio, which allows us to respond to the demands of the labor market in this form as well. Employers and the labor market place increasingly demanding requirements on university graduates, and this is also one of the ways to meet their expectations and increase the quality of the provided education, acquired knowledge and skills of graduates enriched by international experience. A student is simultaneously a student of two faculties at two universities, which changes the quality of the educational experience. Other benefits that students can get consist in building a wide network of contacts that can become important resources for future business activities. We choose French and German universities for building double degree programs also because of the intensive connection of the Slovak economy with the economies of these countries.

What opportunities and challenges do you see for the students of your faculty in connection with this double degree?

The doors of two universities open to students with full access to everything that student membership in this academic environment of both universities brings. It consists of access to subjects, including others, offered by the home university, the possibilities of the student background, student organizations as well as student social life. Students often establish contacts with teachers and become full members of Alumni clubs. We consider the greatest benefit to be that students enrich their CVs, gain excellence that will distinguish them on the labor market.

Can any student enroll in the general management program and take advantage of the double degree option?

The program is intended for students at the second level of study in the General Management study program. Students study the first year at FPM and the second half of their studies at IDRAC Business School. We select students through a selection process. As study opportunities in double degree study programs are limited by the number of places, it is good to consider participating in the program well in advance.
