The Department of International Mobility (IMD) of the University of Economics in Bratislava organized a photography contest for exchange students from partner universities from 13 February to 13 April 2023. The competition aimed to promote and support technical and creative skills in photography as a form of artistic expression. The theme of this year's photography competition was "Bratislava by my eyes", where students had the opportunity to show how they perceive Bratislava and Slovakia because photography says more than a thousand words.

The IMD EU Bratislava selected three winners, to whom Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations awarded valuable prizes. Jona, a student from the University of Hohenheim, Germany, shared with us the link between art and history: "The title of my picture is The sun never sets on Devín Castle. In contrast, the picture shows the sun setting. This is an allusion to the idea that Devín Castle, despite its destruction and age, never loses its significance and place in Slovak history, but endures eternally.".  On the other hand, student Fiona, from Emlyon Business School, France named her photo with the title Time to go: "I took this photo the first week of my arrival in Bratislava on top of the tower of the town hall. I like how it represents Erasmus for me: visit, friends, and time passing by.". Nils from DHBW Mosbach, Germany said he took the picture while walking around heading back to his place: “I took the picture while going on a casual walk outside. The sunset over Bratislava was just amazing so I did not hesitate to take this photograph.
