The University of Economics in Bratislava, represented by its Rector, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Ferdinand Daňo, PhD., signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Aj Ty v IT civic association, represented by its CEO, Ing. Petra Kotuliaková, PhD., on Monday, 17 April 2023.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Anita Romanová, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Business Management of the University of Economics in Bratislava, and by Assoc. Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Mgr. Róbert Hanák, PhD. of the Department of Information Management.

The proportion of women working in the area of information and communications technology (ICT), as opposed to the proportion of men, is low in comparison with other European countries, and just as low is the proportion of female ICT students or women retraining to become ICT workers.

The memorandum concluded between the University of Economics in Bratislava and the Aj Ty v IT Civic Association purports to delineate a framework for mutually beneficial cooperation in these areas, based on priority tasks arising from the purpose of both entities: research and consultancy activities, socially useful activities and education process.

The Aj Ty v IT association is Slovakia's leader in this area, seeking to rectify such disproportions and open the way to IT for all women and girls. The University of Economics in Bratislava is well aware of the ever-growing importance of information technology in business as well as in the entire field of economics, proactively adapting and innovating the teaching content accordingly. Mutual cooperation paves the way for innovative ICT education of non-technical students, preparing them for the labour market's future needs.
