Adam RIAPOŠ, a fifth-year student at the UEBA's Faculty of Business Management, won a World Champion title in the 2022 Spartan Trifecta Race in the 18-24 age group.
The world championship is held in Sparta, Greece every year and the race starts at the statue of King Leonidas. Only elite club members who successfully completed all three Spartan Race disciplines - Sprint, Super and Beast anywhere in the world in one calendar year are invited to race in the legendary Spartan Trifecta World Championship during a single weekend.
"When watching some Internet videos a few years back, I came upon a Spartan Trifecta Race and it left me speechless. Running under the olive trees, carrying heavy weights and last but not least, enjoying gorgeous atmosphere. A few hundred hours of practice later and I suddenly found myself under the Leonidas statue, at the spot close to where the race starts," said Adam.
The championship commenced on Friday, November 4, the first discipline being 7.5 km Sprint. Adam took control of the race, finishing 50 seconds clear of his rivals. On Saturday, Super was on the agenda and Adam managed to win again, albeit with a little trouble. The race continued on Sunday with Beast, a 22.5 km run featuring demanding obstacles on a very difficult muddy terrain with a height difference of 800 meters. The final discipline, too, was dominated by Adam, who thus confirmed his excellent shape for the race. After achieving three victories in three days, having run 45 kilometres in strength-sapping courses with 75 obstacles in total and a height difference of more than 1,000 metres, Adam rightly won the World Champion's title in the 2022 World Trifecta Race.
Thank you, Adam, for representing our country and school. Congratulations to you on your achievements and good luck with many more victories in the future.
