On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the International Relations Office hosted its popular International Study Abroad Fair in the main building of the campus. Over 50 international students participated in the event, and even more local students attended. Student attendees were eager to explore multiple study abroad options that will enable them to study as exchange students both in and outside Europe.

Mr. Boris MATTOŠ, Vice-rector for International Relations, and Ms. Miroslava DARNADIOVÁ, Deputy Head of the International Mobility Department greeted and conversed with the international students, hoping that they shared their understanding and experience of studying abroad and made personal connections with other students.

Currently, this semester, there are around 130 international students from 23 countries studying at EUBA within the frameworks of Erasmus+, Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (KA107), National Scholarship Programme, Bilateral cooperation, and CEEPUS. These programmes bring students from all over the world to Slovakia, who serve as valuable ambassadors of their home university and country. Ana from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, Georgia, said: “For me, this event was interesting, first, we had the opportunity to introduce our university to students from different countries and provide information regarding programs. We also got to know the culture of different countries, which was a pleasure for me!”. Students were not only promoting academic opportunities and study possibilities in and outside Europe but also, cultural diversity, and international experience. Thekla-Myrto from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, said: “This fair was a great opportunity for us to get creative presenting our country and even trying to cook some traditional foods for the first time! Loved how we could interact with so many different cultures in the same place!”

Both incoming and outgoing offices, as well as representatives from the Erasmus Student Network EU Bratislava (ESN EU Bratislava), provided information to students about the diverse types of study abroad programs available and encouraged students to consider studying abroad while at EUBA.

The International Relations Office was excited to announce three participants from Syria as the winners of the best table contest in this year’s event. Ms. Laura DANIELOVÁ, Coordinator for incoming students congratulated them and awarded them the prize. Diana from Tishreen University, Syria, expressed her impression of the event: “It was a wonderful event and an enjoyable experience. I am so happy and proud that our table won the prize, and we were able to win the admiration of the attendees by beautifully representing our country!”.
