The University of Economics in Bratislava assures all Ukrainian students and academic staff of its togetherness and solidarity in their current difficult life situation. EUBA is ready to create the necessary conditions to support students and their family members, as well as colleagues from Ukraine while respecting the specificity of their position and situation, protecting their freedoms and appropriate conditions in the field of education, training, and scientific activity. To address the current situation in which they find themselves as a result of the war conflict in Ukraine, the University of Economics in Bratislava has prepared and decided to implement the following steps aimed at assisting foreign students, their family members, and employees of partner universities from the war-affected areas:

  1. to waive the accommodation fee for Ukrainian students staying in the EU student dormitories in Bratislava for April - June 2022 (no application for waiver is necessary),
  2. refund the accommodation fee to Ukrainian students for March 2022 who have already paid the fee for March 2022 (no application is required),
  3. provide Ukrainian students with a one-off exceptional scholarship from the EU Bratislava Scholarship Fund up to EUR 200, - (based on an individual application on the specified form and addressed to the e-mail address pomocukrajine@euba.sk),
  4. to provide accommodation for the Ukrainian student's close family members for the necessary period in an EU Bratislava student residence; for this purpose, the EU in Bratislava has allocated 50 beds in student residences (based on an application by the Ukrainian student addressed to the e-mail address pomocukrajine@euba.sk),
  5. to consider the possible non-participation in the pedagogical process of students who are in an unfavorable situation as a result of the war conflict and to create all the conditions for the continuation of their studies (measures to be taken by the deans of the individual faculties according to the assessment of the actual situation and the needs of the individual student),
  6. to waive the application fee for the 2022/2023 academic year for applicants from Ukraine,
  7. to organize, if necessary, a specific form of material assistance in the form of a collection of clothes, hygiene items, etc. primarily for students and their family members staying in EU Bratislava facilities; to set up a transparent fundraising account for the support of students from war-affected areas, if necessary,
  8. to provide accommodation for a staff member of a partner university in a war-affected area and his/her family members in an EU student residence in Bratislava for a necessary period, if requested by such a staff member and according to the capacity of the University (upon request addressed to the e-mail address pomocukrajine@euba.sk.

To minimize the effects of the war conflict, a single point of contact has been established for students and staff from the war-affected areas to which those concerned can turn. The contact point is open to all students and staff, regardless of nationality, who find themselves in an unfavorable situation as a result of the war conflict.

The University Board of the University of Economics in Bratislava and the Board of the individual faculties call on all members of the academic community of the University to respect the moral and ethical principles towards students and staff, regardless of their nationality. The University is ready to do everything possible to help mitigate the consequences caused by this situation.
