The Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, based on recommendations from the Crisis Board of the University of Economics in Bratislava for monitoring, assessing the situation and taking action in relation to the occurrence and spread of coronavirus COVID-19 of 29 September 2020, issues

 

the annex 1 to the Rector's Measure No 11/2020,

amending certain provisions (No 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 3, 4 and 6) of Rector's Measures No 11/2020 issued on 20 August 2020.

This Appendix shall enter into force on 1 October 2020.

All the following measures and deadlines may be amended and adapted depending on the decisions of public authorities (e.g. the Public Health Authority).

 

1. Timetable for 2020/2021 - Winter Semester

 

1.2 Full-time teaching – 1st and 2nd stage of study – winter semester

Full-time teaching – 1st and 2nd degree – takes place from 5.10.2020 until further notice according to the lesson schedule (except for 30.10.2020 and 2.11.2020) in an online form.

Teaching will be provided online using the MS Teams online platform, followed by self-study.

Lessons running according to the timetable from 7.30 to 15.00 will be carried out from the place of work of the teacher. 

2-hour lesson takes 90 minutes in online teaching.

Indoor and outdoor sports activities carried out within the framework of study programs have been cancelled until further notice.

The deans of the various faculties and the persons authorized by them shall lay down the details.

 

1.3 Teaching at external study – 1st and 2nd degree of study – winter semester

Teaching in an external course – 1st and 2nd degree of study – is carried out until further notice according to the timetable in an online form.

Teaching will be provided online using the MS Teams online platform, followed by self-study. 

The deans of the various faculties and the persons authorized by them shall lay down the details.

 

1.4 Teaching at the 3rd degree – winter semester

Teaching at the 3rd degree of study will be carried out in a attendance form according to study plans, while maintaining all anti-epidemic measures.

 

3. Meetings of self-governing and advisory bodies of the University and faculties

It is advisable to hold meetings of all self-governing and advisory bodies of the university and individual faculties (e.g. academic boards, scientific councils, colleges, disciplinary committees, etc.) online by videoconferencing or other means of information and communication technology without physical presence, including secret voting, where the technical conditions permit, depending on the nature of the meeting and the nature of the materials under debate, in accordance with Act No. 93/2020 o the 22 April 2020 amending Act No. 131/2020 Z. z. on Higher Education Institutions ...

When organizing meetings of self-governing and advisory bodies in an attendance form, it is recommended to conduct them in large lecture rooms and during their implementation all persons involved are obliged to follow anti-epidemic measures.

 

4. Bratislava Business School activities and mass events

Attendance teaching at the University of the Third Age carried out at the EU in Bratislava will be suspended until further notice.

Lessons will be provided online by using online teaching platforms followed by self-study. 

Attendance instruction at the University of the Third Age in other educational centers is carried out at the scheduled dates, depending on the situation in the regions concerned.

The manager of the University of the Third Age of BBS EU in Bratislava will provide details.

All other educational activities of Bratislava Business School are carried out as planned.

The Vice-Rector for the management of academic projects shall provide details.

All mass events (cultural, sport, social and other events) organized on the EU premises in Bratislava (also in Košice) organized and other entities will be cancelled until further notice.

 

6. Student dormitories

The EU in Bratislava restricts access to student dormitories only to persons staying in the student dormitory and persons working on their premises. Access by the rest of the public shall be limited to establishments, which provide their services on the premises of the student dormitory and are accessible to the public.

Students staying in student dormitories are requested to leave the dormitory (except for international and 3rd grade students) by Monday on the 5 October 2020 at the latest.

Students staying in student dormitories have the opportunity to keep in the student dormitory things that are not necessary for study or for their life. The allocated accommodation will be maintained until it is safe to return to the student dormitory. The fee paid for October 2020 will be automatically moved to the next month in which you will be allowed to be accommodated. If this option is not available until 30 September 2020, the accommodation fee will be refunded to students in December 2020. 

Students who decide to leave the student dormitory must do so by Tuesday, October 6, 2020. The non-accommodated students shall not be entitled to the allocated accommodation and will be refunded the fee paid.

For particularly obvious reasons, exclusively deans of faculties grant the exemption for accommodation in a student dormitory after 5 October 2020 after communication with the EU Centre of Business Activities and University Services in Bratislava.

Visits to student dormitories are prohibited.

During operation time of student dormitories, all persons are obliged to follow the actions of the Office of Public Health and to comply with all anti-epidemic measures.

 

All other guidelines resulting from the measure 11/2020, as well as the related regulations shall remain in force, except for the point 7 of Rector's Order No 6/2020 (transmission of declarations of honor on health and travel abroad for the last 14 days).

The employees in charge shall inform on these measures other employees who do not have computer access.
