In the winter term 2019/2020, nearly two hundred students from 25 countries around the world chose the University of Economics in Bratislava as their new alma mater, students from France, Spain and Germany having the largest representation. In addition to European countries EUBA also hosts students from Bhutan, Kazakhstan and Japan.

The beginning of the term, as usual, belonged to the Welcome Week, which came witch a rich program. On 9 September 2019, the rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Prof Ferdinand Daňo, spoke to the students, welcomed them warmly at the University and wished them much success. Subsequently, Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations, introduced the university. Students had the opportunity to learn not only interesting information about the university, but also about Bratislava itself which was presented by the representative of the Bratislava Tourist Board Ms Daniela Chrančoková. The event was held in the EUBA Assembly Hall and was complemented by a program of folk dances and songs by the folk ensemble Ekonóm. Students were also given a tour of the university campus, during which they had the opportunity to get to know the new environment and discover the most important places at the university.

In the following days, students were provided with information from the International Mobility Department (IMD) of the Center for International Relations and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN EU) concerning the education and administrative system of the university and last but not least, clarification of the visa agenda. For international students, IMD has prepared a presentation on Slovak culture and intercultural communication, which forms an integral part of their stay abroad in Slovakia. ESN has prepared accompanying activities for students such as traditional bryndza gnocchi tasting and Bratislava city tour.
