On 17 – 19 June 2019, the annual meeting of the International Double Diploma Consortium (CIDD) took place at the University of Economics in Bratislava. In his opening speech, EUBA’s rector, Mr Ferdinand Daňo, highlighted the importance of the consortium and the activities of the University in the field of double degree programmes. The international cooperation of the University of Economics in Bratislava was presented to the delegation by Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations.
CIDD was established in 2000 to promote the concept of double degree programmes and its current network consists of 29 economics, management and business-oriented universities from Europe, Asia and Americas. The University of Economics in Bratislava is represented by Assoc. Prof. Jana Blštáková, PhD., vice-dean for international relations at the Faculty of Business Management. The agenda of the meeting in Bratislava was focused on annual activity reports, the recruitment of new members and bilateral negotiations on further cooperation. Double degree programmes are now an established part of the internationalization strategies of world-class universities and allows students to multiply their academic opportunities and develop their international work competence.
The faculties of the University of Economics in Bratislava have concluded a total of 14 international double and joint degree programmes contracts with 9 universities in 8 countries in Europe (Great Britain, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Latvia, Bulgaria) and Asia (China, Thailand).
