German ambassador to Slovakia, H.E. Mr Joachim Bleicker gave a lecture at 25th issue of Diplomacy in Practice lecture series on 12 March 2019. Ambassador Bleicker spoke about the priorities of German foreign policy and a number of global issues. The German ambassador answered to questions of students interested in current political situation in the country and his views on world economic and political events.
The ambassador Bleicker was welcomed before his lecture by Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations who informed the ambassador about cooperation with universities in Germany. Mr Leonard Klumpp carrying out his internship at the German embassy was also present at the meeting. The University of Economics in Bratislava has cooperation agreements with 34 German universities. EUBA offers courses in German language (11 courses last year) as well as language courses of German language. The Faculty of Economics Informatics offers a full-time German-taught programme International Financial Management as a part of a double degree agreement with Martin Luther Universität Halle-Wittemberg. In 2018/2019 there is 63 students from Germany at EUBA.
