In the week between 11 and 16 November 2018 the Slovak part of the EUROMATES exchange programme took place on premises of the University of Economics in Bratislava. This year students from Czech Republic and Poland came to participate.

Czech Republic was represented by students of the Faculty of Management in Jindřichův Hradec at the University of Economics in Prague. Polish exchange students were from the University of Economics in Wrocław. Overall 18 students participated in the exchange programme. They had a rich programme composed of lectures, English language courses, tour of the campus and experiencing the university life. The students had also a chance to explore the historical centre of the capital Bratislava, including its landmark, UFO, where they visited the observation deck and could enjoy the panoramic view of the Slovak capital. They also met with the leading figure at the university, the rector Prof. Ferdinand Daňo, PhD who launched the event and wished students much strength and a lot of experience and memories. And since we are economists and the National Bank of Slovakia is an important institution in the world of finance and monetary politics, the students could also take part in an excursion to its headquarters in Bratislava where the new €50 banknote was presented to them in English. They also took an interesting tour, watched a short documentary on the new €50 banknote and could try their hand in minting their commemorative coin.

Our thanks go to the rector, all teachers, staff and all partners who enabled us to create for students a valuable project which, we believe, will continue in upcoming years on ever higher level.
