On September 25, 2018 the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Japan to Slovakia H. E. Mr. Jun Shimmi visited the University of Economics in Bratislava and launched 24th two-semester lecture series Diplomacy in Practice. The main topic of the winter term is the economic diplomacy of Asia-Pacific. In his presentation, Ambassador Shimmi discussed the continual developments that challenge the society in 21st century and defined new trends in global economics. In following discussion, he answered the questions of students.
Mr. Boris Mattoš, the vice-rector for international relations, welcomed the guest before the lecture. Cooperation between UEBA and Japanese universities was discussed at the meeting. The ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Ayano Toyoshi, second secretary at the Japanese embassy. Chihana Imai, an exchange student, was also present at the meeting.
