On June 19, 2018 the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, signed an agreement on double degree diploma between the University of Economics in Bratislava (UEBA) and the University of National Economy in Sofia (UNWE). The agreement was signed in the presence of both the President of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Andrej Kiska and the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev who was on an official visit to Slovakia between June 19 and 20, 2018.
The double degree programme will be implemented by the UEBA’s Faculty of International Relations and UNWE’s Department of International Economic Relations and Business. The agreement for master’s programme in Economic Diplomacy was drafted by vice-rector for international relations, Mr. Boris Mattoš, dean of the Faculty on International Relations, Mr. Rudolf Kucharčík and vice-dean of the Faculty, Mr. Samuel Goda, and signed by Mr. Statty Stattev, the UNWE’s Rector. The document follows the agreement on bilateral cooperation between UEBA and UNWE from November 5, 2013.
UEBA’s faculties currently implement 7 international double degree programmes with 8 partner universities in 7 countries in Europe (UK, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Latvia) and Asia (China, Thailand).
The University of National Economy is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the field of economics in Southeast Europe. Distinguished academics, government officials (six prime ministers), country’s representatives in international organizations, public figures, entrepreneurs, etc. can be found among the UNWE’s graduates. The UNWE is a leader in higher education in Bulgaria with nearly 100 years of history. The university comprises 8 faculties with 500 lecturers and over 20 000 students, and offers 43 bachelor, 108 master and 38 PhD programmes. In 2016, 110 research projects were being carried out at the University.
