On June 5, 2018, the Rector of the UEBA prof. Ferdinand Daňo welcomed at her own request the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Slovakia, H. E. Yamila Sonia Pita Montes. Dr. Mario Manuel Ares Sánchez from the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education was also present at the meeting.
The goal of the Cuban ambassador’s visit was to familiarise with the activities and specialization of the UEBA as well as to discuss the academic cooperation with universities in Cuba. The vice-rector for international relations, assoc. prof. Boris Mattoš informed the guests on the ongoing cooperation.
UEBA has cooperation agreements with Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas and Universidad de La Habana. Ambassador Montes expressed preparedness for extending and fostering the partnerships with Cuban universities.
