On the occasion of the 5th IBSM conference "Business Management and Accounting", co-organized by the Faculty of Commerce in Bratislava in cooperation with the Hanoi University of Industry, Trisakti University, Jakarta and the University of Social Sciences in Warszaw, the Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, and members of the scientific and organizational committee of the conference, Mr. Peter Drábik and Ms. Paulína Krnáčová, visited from April 17 to 22 2018, the capital of Vietnam – Hanoi. On this occasion, they had several important meetings.
On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, the Rector received the Honorable Mention of the Association of Vietnamese Friendship Organizations for the contribution of the University of Economics in Bratislava to the development of Slovak-Vietnam cooperation in the field of economic education. The award ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the Association, Mr. Bui Khac Son, the General Manager of the Association for European Affairs, Mr. Pham Thi Thai, and former Vietnamese graduates of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
The following day, a meeting with the Rector of National Economics University, Mr. Tran Tho Dat, was held in the morning, and in the afternoon a meeting with Vice-Rector Hanoi University of Industry, Ms. Bui Thi Ngan took place. The subject of discussions at both institutions was development of cooperation in the area of student and employees’ mobility, scientific research and the organization of joint scientific events, as well as the conclusion of double diploma contracts. All interested parties expressed an interest in developing cooperation.
The most important meeting was the reception of the Slovak Delegation at the Vietnam’s Government Office by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, who—as a PhD. alumnus—visited his alma mater in September last year with a delegation. This meeting was also attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Slovak Republic in Vietnam, Mr. Quang Le Hong and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc. Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam expressed confidence that the cooperation of the University of Economics in Bratislava with Vietnamese universities will further intensify. This cooperation was also supported by the State Secretary of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and the Chargé d’Affaires of the SR in Vietnam.
The intensive program continued with participating at the opening of an international scientific conference during which the Vice-Dean of the UEBA’s Faculty of Commerce, Mr. Peter Drábik, received a thankful letter from the chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Asep Hermawan from Trisakti University, Jakarta. As a part of the opening day of the conference, there was a plenary session where Ms. Paulína Krnáčová from the UEBA’s Faculty of Commerce presented her lecture on Food Safety in the Context of Consumer Protection.
Through their active performances during the upcoming sessions next daythe University was represented by Mr. Ferdinand Daňo, Mr. Peter Drábik, Ms. Paulína Krnáčová, Mr. Milan Terek and Ms. Eva Muchová, who also led one of the conference panels.
